Four Success Stories
Insulation Squirrel
This young squirrel walked through the foam which is sprayed on the exterior of houses under construction. The foam is designed to harden in minutes and form a tight waterproof seal. Unfortunately, it formed a seal covering most of the squirrel’s body and glued her eyelids open. A concerned citizen noticed her and after two days finally caught her. Her corneas (outside covering of the eye) were completely white from edema, and most of her fur had to be shaved off to remove the hardened foam.
She required three difference types of eye medications applied four times daily, but she regained her sight.
She was successfully released once her fur grew back and her eyes healed.
